at least in my experience the models in game dont look that bad or low resolution (granted it is partly subjective), not sure if base building was ever a thing that the game was adveritsed with, kinda same for resource gathering, in essence the game is about combat, in campaign you do upgrade planets and put some defensive structures but the main gameplay loop is fighting, some people like it
Boarding is certainly not the most intuitive aspect of Battlefleet Gothic: Armada. It is only briefly covered in the tutorial and has led to many questions (and misunderstandings) in the forums. This guide aims at beginners and experienced players who want to know more about boarding and the game mechanics behind it.

That being said, how I imagined Battlefleet Gothic being done the way they did it, being Homeworld without the 3D movement

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2. Unbeatable Ork fleet. 1 BC, 2 small rocks, 2 medium rocks, 2 onslaught. Upgrades for Zzaps and big red button cooldown. Abilities don't really matter, stasis and plasma bomb is always good though. Keep the rocks in one blob and just hurl them right at the enemy or chase him, if it's a fast faction.
