It's not overwhelming and I'd go as far as to say it's relaxing, especially when compared to Odyssey. In terms of map size, from memory Odyssey is much bigger and much more dense. Aside from the cities RDR2 is very open but still feels lived in and immersive. In my opinion, RDR2 is miles better than Odyssey, I loved Odyssey but they aren't even It looks like Stillwater is a bigger city. Since the reboot is mostly desert anyways.
